Editorial Policies
The International Journal of Educational Contemporary Explorations (IJECE) maintains editorial policies designed to uphold academic integrity, ensure transparency, and promote the highest standards of scholarly publishing. These policies guide all editorial decisions and define the responsibilities of authors, reviewers, and editors throughout the publication process.
- Editorial Independence
The editorial team exercises full independence in evaluating and selecting manuscripts for publication. Decisions are based solely on the scholarly merit, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance of the work to the journal’s aims and scope. Editorial decisions are not influenced by authors’ institutional affiliations, nationality, gender, or personal characteristics.
- Double-Blind Peer Review
All submissions undergo a strict double-blind peer-review process. Identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to promote impartiality. At least two qualified reviewers evaluate each manuscript for scholarly contribution, clarity, methodological quality, significance, and ethical compliance. Final recommendations are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief prior to acceptance.
- Ethical Standards
IJECE follows the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been published elsewhere. Any instance of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical research practices results in immediate rejection or retraction.
- Authorship and Contribution
Authorship must reflect substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All authors are required to approve the final manuscript. Guest authorship, ghostwriting, and honorary authorship are not permitted. Contributors not meeting authorship criteria may be acknowledged.
- Conflict of Interest Disclosure
Authors, reviewers, and editors must declare any financial, institutional, or personal conflicts that may influence the research or its evaluation. Manuscripts with undeclared conflicts discovered during review may be withdrawn or rejected.
- Plagiarism Screening
All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism detection using reputable software. Similarity reports inform editorial decisions, and manuscripts with unethical levels of overlap are automatically rejected. Authors may be asked to revise content when similarity involves improper citation rather than misconduct.
- Data Transparency and Research Integrity
Authors are encouraged to make datasets accessible when appropriate and ethically permissible. Research involving human participants must adhere to institutional ethical guidelines and must include evidence of ethics approval. Manuscripts reporting unethical research practices will not be considered.
- Editorial Communication and Decision Process
Authors receive timely updates regarding the status of their submissions. The editorial office ensures clear communication through each stage of the review process. Decisions may include acceptance, acceptance with minor revisions, revision and resubmission, or rejection.
- Post-Publication Policies
The journal maintains procedures for issuing corrections, clarifications, retractions, or expressions of concern when necessary. Authors are responsible for notifying the editorial office of significant errors identified after publication. Updated versions are maintained transparently and in accordance with COPE guidelines.
- Archiving and Digital Preservation
Published articles are permanently archived on the journal website and stored in appropriate digital repositories to guarantee long-term access. The journal ensures preservation of all published content regardless of future platform changes.
