Author Guidelines
International Journal of Educational Contemporary Explorations
This journal welcomes high-quality scholarly manuscripts that address contemporary issues in education. Authors are required to follow the guidelines below to ensure a smooth and efficient submission, review, and publication process.
- Manuscript Types Accepted
IJECE accepts the following types of scholarly work:
• Original Research Articles
• Theoretical and Conceptual Papers
• Review Articles
• Case Studies / Practice-Based Analyses
• Book Reviews
• Revised Versions of Graduate Theses or Dissertations (must be converted into journal-article format)
All manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. - Submission Language
• Manuscripts must be written in English, using clear, academic, and non-discriminatory language.
• Authors are encouraged to ensure grammatical accuracy prior to submission. - Manuscript Structure
All submissions should follow the standard academic structure:
3.1 Title Page
Include:
• Full manuscript title
• Author(s) names
• Institutional affiliation(s)
• ORCID iD (required for corresponding authors, others if available)
• Corresponding author’s email address (required)
3.2 Abstract
• 150–250 words
• Should include the purpose, methodology, key results/findings, and implications
3.3 Keywords
• 4–6 keywords
• Arrange alphabetically and separated by commas
3.4 Main Text
Typical structure for empirical papers:
• Introduction
• Literature Review
• Methodology
• Results / Findings
• Discussion
• Conclusion and Recommendations
Other article types may adjust structure as appropriate. - Formatting Requirements
4.1 Length
• Research articles: 5,000–7,000 words
• Review papers: 5,000–8,000 words
• Case studies: 3,000–5,000 words
• Book reviews: 1,000–1,500 words
4.2 Font and Spacing
• Font: calibi, Title size 14, Author/s size 12, all the rest size 10
• Spacing: single-spaced, including references, unindented with one space between paragraphs
• Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
4.3 Referencing Style
• IJECE follows the APA 7th Edition referencing style.
• All in-text citations and references must be complete and consistent.
4.4 Tables and Figures
• Must be numbered consecutively (Table 1, Figure 1).
• Provide clear captions.
• Insert both table and figures within the manuscript - Ethical Requirements
• Manuscripts must comply with ethical research standards.
• Human-subject studies must include a statement of ethics approval and informed consent.
• Authors must declare any conflicts of interest.
• Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited. - Submission Process
• All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s Online Journal System (OJS) in the Submit a Paper drop-down menu.
• Authors must ensure that submissions include all required components:
o Manuscript file (to be anonymized for review)
o Supplementary files if applicable - Peer Review Policy
• All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review by at least two qualified reviewers.
• Review decisions include: accept, minor revision, major revision, resubmit, or reject.
• Revised manuscripts must be accompanied by a point-by-point response to reviewers. - Copyright and Licensing
• Authors retain copyright.
• Articles are published under a Creative Commons license (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).
• Authors grant IJECE the right to publish and distribute their work. - Publication Fees
• Article Processing Charge (APC) 200 USD or its equivalent
• No submission fees
• Publication is fully open-access. - Post-Publication Policies
• Authors may request corrections for minor errors.
• Retractions follow COPE guidelines for serious ethical issues.
• Articles remain permanently accessible through the journal archive
