Submission Preparation Checklist

Authors must ensure that their manuscript complies with all requirements below before uploading it through the IJECE OJS platform. Submissions that do not meet these standards may be returned for correction prior to editorial screening.

  1. Manuscript Originality

The submission is original and has not been previously published.

The manuscript is not under review by another journal.

All sources are correctly cited in APA 7th Edition.

The work has been checked for plagiarism and meets ethical originality standards.

  1. File Preparation

The manuscript is submitted as a complete, full-text file with all components included.

The editorial team will handle anonymization for double-blind peer review; authors do not need to remove names or prepare a separate title page.

The file is submitted in Word format (.doc or .docx).

  1. Manuscript Format

The manuscript follows the required structure:

Title

Abstract (150–250 words)

Keywords (4–6, alphabetical, comma-separated)

Main Text

References

Tables and Figures (embedded in the text)

Formatting:

Font: Calibri, size 12

Spacing: Single-spaced, including references

Paragraphs: Unindented, with one blank line between paragraphs

Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides

Word count falls within the journal limits:

Research articles: 5,000–7,000 words

Review papers: 5,000–8,000 words

Case studies: 3,000–5,000 words

Book reviews: 1,000–1,500 words

  1. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures are inserted within the manuscript, placed near their first mention.

Each has a clear label (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1) and a descriptive caption.

All graphics are original or include permission for use when required.

  1. Ethical Compliance

Studies involving human participants clearly state:

Ethics approval, and

Informed consent procedures.

Any conflicts of interest are disclosed within the manuscript.

The study adheres to international ethical research standards.

  1. Supplementary Files (If Applicable)

Authors may upload supporting materials such as:

Survey instruments

Interview guides

Data sets (when ethically permissible)

Ethics clearance documents

Appendices too lengthy for the main text

  1. Licensing and Copyright

Authors understand that accepted articles will be published under a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.

Authors retain copyright and grant IJECE permission to publish and disseminate the work.

  1. Publication Fees

Authors acknowledge the Article Processing Charge (APC) of 200 USD payable upon acceptance.

There are no submission fees.

  1. Final Compliance Check

Before final submission, authors confirm that:

The manuscript is complete, accurate, and professionally written.

APA formatting has been reviewed.

Tables, figures, citations, and references are consistent.

All requirements above have been met.
