Review Criteria

The evaluation started with the criteria, which served as the structured basis for assessing the manuscript. Each criterion reflected a core dimension of scholarly quality. Originality and contribution to the field examined whether the study offered new knowledge, perspectives, or applications. Relevance to the IJECE aims and scope assessed alignment with the journal’s focus on contemporary educational issues. Theoretical foundation and literature support evaluated the adequacy, relevance, and integration of scholarly sources. Methodological rigor and ethical compliance focused on the appropriateness of the research design, procedures, and ethical standards. Data analysis and interpretation reviewed the accuracy, depth, and coherence of analytical processes. Clarity, organization, and coherence assessed the logical flow, structure, and readability of the manuscript. APA 7th Edition citations and references examined consistency and correctness of academic referencing. Tables and figures were reviewed in terms of clarity, accuracy, and relevance. Overall scholarly merit reflected the manuscript’s collective academic value.

Based on performance across these criteria, a recommendation was formulated. An Accept decision indicated that all criteria were satisfactorily met with no required revisions. Accept with Minor Revision was issued when the criteria were largely satisfied but minor improvements were needed, such as language refinement, formatting corrections, or limited citation updates. Major Revision Required was recommended when several criteria were insufficiently addressed and substantial revisions were necessary to improve theoretical grounding, methodology, analysis, or organization. Resubmit for Review was used when extensive revisions were required that warranted a new round of peer evaluation. A Reject decision was made when the manuscript failed to meet multiple core criteria, demonstrating fundamental weaknesses in originality, relevance, rigor, or scholarly quality, making it unsuitable for publication in the journal.
